NOTICE OF RULEMAKING

Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated § 25-15-201 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Arkansas State Board of Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ASBART) is considering filing its Rules and Regulations.

Recent revisions have been made to the proposed Rules; these revisions are minor, and are either corrective in nature or serve to clarify the information provided in the previously proposed Rules. The proposed Rules include, but are not limited to, the following subjects and issues: Definitions, Scope of Practice, Board Composition and Duties, Public Records, Meetings of the Board, Adoption of Rules and Regulations, Applications, Requirements for Licensing, Complaint and Disciplinary Procedures, and Prohibited Acts and Conduct of Licensed Professionals. The revisions to the proposed Rules include but are not limited to minor corrections, the stating of fee amounts, additional detail regarding license renewal requirements and the addition of prohibited acts and conduct of licensed professionals, specifically crimes relating to acupuncture. The proposed rule may impact licensed acupuncturists and unlicensed individuals.

A public hearing will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the ASBART offices, 11701 West 36th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas. Written comments from the public will be accepted in advance of the meeting if received prior to February 28, 2012.
